Who are we?
Tempo is a simple word, but it sits at the heart of how we understand health, wellbeing and change.
Tempo refers to rhythm, pacing, flow, and to how deeply our nervous system and daily functioning are shaped by our relationship to these.
When this rhythm is disrupted, life can feel like extremes:
pushing too hard
feeling overwhelmed
or shutting down completely
disconnection from self, others and life
At Tempo Therapy Services, we focus on helping individuals find a pace and rhythm that their nervous system can sustain. This includes both internal rhythms such as breath, energy, attention and emotional patterns, and external rhythms like work and rest, movement and stillness, relationships and daily life demands
When these rhythms are more aligned, people often experience:
greater regulation
improved mental health
an increased sense of control in their daily life
access to an ability to connect, be creative and playful
We support children, adolescents and adults experiencing:
ADHD and neurodivergence
nervous system dysregulation
mental health conditions
overwhelm and burnout
emotional and sensory challenges
trauma and major life transitions
Many people we work with feel stuck in cycles of knowing what to do, but struggling to follow through due to an overwhelmed or dysregulated nervous system.
Mission
Tempo exists to support individuals to move from survival into more steady, sustainable ways of living.
We provide individualised, trauma-informed occupational therapy that:
builds capacity
strengthens confidence
and supports lasting change
Our approach respects each person’s nervous system, context and lived experience - recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all pathway to wellbeing.
Values
1. Human-First, Family-Aware Care
We recognise that individuals exist within systems - families, relationships and environments. We aim to support the whole person, while also valuing sustainability for both clients and clinicians.
2. Connection
Therapy is relational. We prioritise safety, trust and genuine connection, creating spaces where people feel seen, understood and supported.
3. Ethical and Evidence-Informed Practice
We practise with integrity and clinical responsibility. Our work is grounded in evidence while remaining flexible, practical and responsive to each individual.
4. Empowerment for Sustainable Change
Our goal is not dependence on therapy, but increased capacity, confidence and self-trust. We support skills and awareness that extend beyond the therapy space.
