Mental Health Occupational Therapy supports a young person’s ability to engage in everyday life.

At Tempo, this means helping neurodivergent teen girls understand their nervous system, sensory needs, emotions, and patterns - while building the capacity to participate in daily activities such as school, relationships, routines, and self-care.

We focus not just on how someone feels, but on how they are able to live.

This approach may be a good fit if your teen is feeling anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, or struggling to engage in daily life—especially if she “knows what to do but can’t seem to do it.”

It is particularly helpful for neurodivergent teen girls who may be masking, experiencing burnout, or feeling misunderstood, even with other supports in place.

Sessions are tailored to the individual and may include a mix of conversation, practical strategies, nervous system and sensory-based work, and psychotherapy-informed approaches.

Where appropriate, sessions may also involve parents or carers, or include collaboration with schools and other supports to ensure consistency across environments.

You can access services through NDIS (self or plan-managed), Medicare (with a valid referral), or privately.

No referral is required for private services. Medicare rebates may be available with a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician referral (e.g. Mental Health Care Plan or CDMP).

Fees are in line with current NDIS pricing, with full details provided prior to commencement.
